Founders of the art and creative studio, One Dollar, the creative pair aims to raise awareness about our planet’s current and recurrent issues through art, film, photography and multi-media works.
“The World has Gone Bananas” is a reflection on society and humanity”, Sarah Barlondo comments.
The works on display touch subjects such as climate change, food production and the environment, love, political crisis, poverty, and education in the hopes to raise awareness in a playful and visually attractive way.
”The World Has Gone Bananas” is a recollection of collaborative works we decided to put together to bring (a positive) light onto show our differences, whether they are social, romantic, physical or political. We talk about major topics and changes that we have all experiences since the first lockdown of 2020. It’s visually playful for attention but it holds a deeper message."

There-imagined SLS duck is featured as the cherry on the top of the hotel in this special exhibition, taking centre stage on the 75th Floor by the rooftop pool. Bold and daring the pieces will capture imaginations and inspire guests as they explore the hotel, discovering new pieces on every level. Each piece in the collection is made from recycled and re-purposed materials making every single piece unique, while the paint used is sustainable and water-based, ensuring that it does not produce harmful fumes.
“We strongly believe that freedom of expression can align the world in a positive manner and bring awareness to the forgotten, under looked or ignored topics. “The world has gone bananas” feels like an extension of the last 3 years, where humanity is being challenged and togetherness has been put into question. The main question is: How do we work together to insure that we preserve the well being of our race and planet? ” , comments Cláudio Cardoso
As well as championing sustainability both Chef Cláudio and Sarah will be supporting charities that are close to their hearts.
